The role

-Carry out surveys of all types of ships during construction and throughout their service life.
-Conduct ISM/ISPS audits and MLC inspections of all types of ships during service life.
-Understand and interpret national and international rules and regulations applicable to marine assets.
-Understand the basic principles of risk management.
-Provide good control of projects, including communicating with clients, financial control, and timely and accurate reporting.
What you bring

-BSc or MSc in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a similar discipline.
-A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyd’s Register within a relevant field of engineering or physical science, or qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship’s officer.
-Ability to use a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge to optimise the application of existing and emerging technology.
-Ability appropriate theoretical and practical methods to the analysis and solution of engineering problems.
-Ability to provide technical and commercial leadership within the responsibilities assigned.
-Effective interpersonal skills, including communication in English at all levels.
-Ability to travel outside the area on an occasional basis.
-Membership of an appropriate professional institution (I.Eng or equivalent), or working towards or gaining chartered or incorporated engineering status.
