What To Expect
Tesla is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the Policy Team in support of electric vehicle charging policy across EMEA. You will help track, analyze, and advance the political, regulatory, and policy frameworks that support Tesla’s Charging Mission.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career policy professional to develop expertise in EV charging, energy and broader e-mobility regulatory landscape while working alongside an experienced policy lead. To be successful, you should be passionate about Tesla’s mission, possess strong research and written communication skills, and be able to distill complex regulatory topics into clear, actionable insights.
What You’ll Do
Support policy engagement processes on charging-related matters at the EU and individual country level
Monitor and track legislative and regulatory developments across EMEA, flagging relevant opportunities and risks
Draft briefing notes, position papers, consultation responses, and stakeholder correspondence for review
Engage with public stakeholder offices, industry partners, and trade associations – attending meetings, representing Tesla in working groups, and maintaining day-to-day relationships
Conduct research and preliminary impact assessments on how policy changes affect Tesla’s charging business, providing analysis to support recommendations to leadership
Coordinate with other national Tesla policy, regulatory, and commercial staff to ensure consistent positioning and accurate information-sharing
Prepare materials, trackers, and internal updates that keep the team organized and informed
What You’ll Bring
2+ years of experience in public policy, government affairs, regulatory affairs, or a related field. Exposure to the e-mobility or EV charging sector in EMEA is a strong plus
Familiarity with EU legislative and regulatory processes as well as general country-level engagement
Demonstrated ability to conduct policy research and communicate findings clearly to a variety of audiences
Some experience engaging government bodies, industry stakeholders, or trade associations, including in a supporting capacity within regulatory or advocacy proceedings
Background in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
Willingness to travel (up to ~20% as needed)
Strong proficiency in English; knowledge of other European language(s) is advantageous.
