Your Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled Communications and Events Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the organization’s internal and external communications, as well as planning and executing events that promote the organization’s brand and mission. The position requires a detail-oriented, creative, and strategic thinker with excellent communication and project management skills.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to effectively communicate the organization’s message and brand to various stakeholders

  • Create and distribute announcements, newsletters, and other publications to keep stakeholders informed about the organization’s news, activities and achievements.

  • Plan, execute, and evaluate events such as training, conferences, and workshops that promote the organization’s mission and goals.

  • Manage event logistics, including venue selection, catering, decor, and audio-visual requirements.

  • Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring that expenses are within budget constraints.

  • Coordinate with speakers, performers, and other event participants to ensure their participation and availability.

  • Develop marketing materials, such as event brochures, posters, internal portals and invitations, to promote events and maximize attendance.

  • Ensure that all events are accessible and inclusive for all attendees.

  • Monitor and report on the success of events.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that events align with the organization’s overall goals and objectives.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in event planning and communications to continuously improve the organization’s events and communications strategies.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Event Management, or a related field.

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in communications and event management

  • Proven track record of successfully planning and executing events, including training, conferences, and workshops.

  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of professionalism and discretion.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proficient use of IT including such as tools as Adobe Illustrator, Publisher, and Microsoft Outlook
