The role

Raytheon Technologies is playing a major role in revolutionising the Royal Navy’s training management culture, helping to make the UK Armed Forces more agile and adaptable than ever, and giving them the confidence to tackle future challenges. In partnership with Capita, Elbit systems UK, and Fujitsu, will ensure the Royal Navy offers best-in-class training to servicemen and women.

We will accelerate the use of new technology, processes and learning solutions, aligning with the Royal Navy’s transformation agenda, and positioning it to thrive in the 21st century. This new partnership further strengthens Raytheon s role as a proven strategic partner to the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and the UK government.

Summary of Role: Reports directly to the Training Equipment Manager (TEM). The role of Training Equipment Lead Southwest is to manage the execution of the delivery, design, and maintenance of training courses. Responsible for the availability, performance, change and sustainability of training equipment delivered during the Delivery Phase.

Main Duties:

  • Co-ordinating Role in the execution of the delivery, design, and maintenance of training courses.

  • Responsible for the availability, performance, change and sustainability of training equipment delivered during the Delivery Phase.

  • The review and upkeep of the training documentation in accordance with the QMS.

  • Maintenance of training aids and media.

  • Coordinating role in the execution of the Delivery Phase of the contract.

  • Provision of immediate FM support.

  • Co-ordination of FM support from with Raleigh.

  • Implementation of Local Training Equipment Plan.

  • Oversight of trainee administration and reception.

  • PSEC member within assigned Training Equipment allocated.

  • Retains overall accountability for Obsolescence Management and will collate information from all stakeholders including supply chain.

  • Coordinate the disposal of redundant TE in accordance with MoD procedures, ensuring legislative requirements are observed.

  • Coordinate the Training Equipment trials and acceptance process.

  • Supervise the handover of new TE to the Training Groups.

  • Co-ordinate Emerging defect reporting, tracking, updating, level 3/4 rectification works to sign off and closures.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

  • Experience of Project Management within Defence, engineering or similar environment.

  • Eligible to work in the UK and must possess (or be able to obtain) SC level security clearance.

  • An adequate knowledge of and compliance with the Health and Safety policy and regulations consistent with their responsibilities.

  • Has experience of technical installations (electrical, mechanical, IT and/or relevant training equipment).

  • Qualified academically or vocationally to a minimum of ONC or equivalent in relevant subject matter.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with project team members, clients, and superiors at all levels and in all areas of management.

  • Knowledge of Project and Risk Analysis management techniques.

  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Project, VISO or CAD, Word, and Excel.

Desirable:

  • Experience in delivering multiple projects concurrently varying in size and complexity.

  • Experience of Project Management End to End Full Life Cycles.

  • Experience of applying engineering/electrical principles practically in a military technical environment.

  • Demonstrates a commitment to continuing professional development (CPD).

  • IOSH Level 3 Managing Safely.
