Safety Scientist, Global Medical Safety Neuro-rare

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of people living with brain disorders? At Lundbeck, we’re driven by a clear purpose: to improve brain health. As a Safety Scientist in our Global Medical Safety team, you’ll play a vital role in safeguarding patients while contributing to the development of innovative treatments.

Join a mid-sized, agile company where your work truly matters – and where no two days are the same. You’ll collaborate across functions, tackle diverse challenges, and be part of a passionate team committed to advancing science and patient care.

If this sounds like the kind of impact you want to make, we’d love to hear from you!

Your new role – why is this a great opportunity?

As a Safety Scientist at Lundbeck, you’ll take the lead in the ongoing safety surveillance of one or more of our development-stage or marketed products, contributing directly to our mission of improving brain health.

This is a dynamic and multifaceted role that spans the entire product lifecycle – from early clinical development to post-launch evidence generation. You’ll be at the forefront of shaping the safety profile of strategically important assets and helping to inform benefit-risk assessments.

Your responsibilities will include:

-Providing expert safety input into clinical trial protocols and statistical analysis plans
-Conducting signal detection, safety monitoring, and medical review of individual case reports
-Analyzing safety data from multiple sources to validate signals and author safety reports
-Author aggregate safety and benefit-risk evaluation reports, Risk Management Plans, and responses to health authority and ethics committee inquiries
-Supporting the implementation of risk minimization measures through key clinical and regulatory documents
-Supporting the Safety Lead in presentations to internal and external stakeholders
-Contributing to the evolution of our safety processes by driving continuous improvement, cultivating innovation, and helping shape best practices within Global Medical Safety through scientific, digital, and data-driven approaches

As a member of cross-functional trial teams and the Safety Committee, you’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across the organization while also working independently. This is a unique opportunity to grow your expertise, make meaningful contributions, and be part of a passionate team dedicated to transforming the lives of people living with brain disorders.

Your future team

You’ll be joining Global Medical Safety, a key part of Global Patient Safety, based at Lundbeck’s headquarters in Copenhagen. Our team of around 40 dedicated Safety Leads and Safety Scientists is spread across Denmark, the U.S., and Singapore. We take great pride in our shared mission to ensure patient safety and in the strong sense of collaboration that defines our team.

We work in a highly professional, international environment where trust, commitment, and mutual support are at the heart of our culture. You’ll find a healthy balance between focused individual work and daily interactions in our open office space, along with the flexibility to work from home when needed — all in alignment with your manager and the nature of your assignments.

What you bring to the team

Our preferred candidates have the following qualifications:

type=”disc”-
-University degree in life sciences (e.g. M.D., M.Sc. Pharmacy, M.Sc. Human Biology)
-Strong scientific acumen with profound knowledge of pathophysiology, medical concepts, and scientific methodology

-Experience in neuroscience and with biological compounds would be an asset
-Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across functions, engage stakeholders, and drive results
-Curiosity and openness to innovative approaches

Seniority of the position will be based on your experience and qualifications.

Annual base salary range: 582 000 – 799 700 DKK gross.
