Postdoctoral fellow to study the hematopoietic stem cell niche in leukemia
Offer DescriptionThe Department of Hematology at the Erasmus Medical Center Cancer Institute runs an ambitious and internationally recognized research program in the field of bone marrow failure and leukemia. The overall goal of our laboratory is to gain a better understanding of the cellular elements and molecular pathways driving leukemogenesis. Specifically, we aim to understand the interplay between the bone marrow immune-microenvironment and hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells in this process. The postdoctoral projects will focus on dissecting the role of inflammatory signaling in the stem cell niche in malignant transformation in the hematopoietic system. We will exploit mouse modeling and state-of-the art (single-cell) molecular tools and strive to translate insights to human disease, exploring therapeutic modalities aimed at targeting inflammatory niche signaling in the immune-microenvironment to treat and prevent leukemia.Where to apply WebsiteRequirementsSpecific RequirementsThe position should appeal to scientists who want to perform cutting edge basic/translational research applying in vitro and in vivo modeling with the ultimate goal to develop novel therapeutics. The following skills and qualifications are required:
Expertise in hematology, immunology and/or stem cell biology, bio-informatical analyses of single cell data and mouse modeling would be highly recommendable. Being able to present a certificate of good conduct is a condition for the appointment.Additional InformationBenefits
