PhD position on Fast and Accurate Integral Equation Methods for Computational Problems in Wave Phenomena

Company:

University of Twente

Job description

JOB DESCRIPTIONIn this role, you will delve into the analysis, implementation, and application of novel numerical methods to efficiently and accurately compute volume integral operators that lie at the core of powerful integral equation formulations of acoustic, elastic, and electromagnetic wave equations. These methods hold the potential to significantly enhance the accuracy, geometric flexibility, efficiency, and implementation costs of wave equation solvers. As a result, you will have the opportunity to make significant contributions to cutting-edge research at the intersection of computational mathematics and its applications in physics, engineering, and material sciences, with a specific focus on addressing direct and inverse problems in nanophotonics and plasmonics. You will be immersed in a vibrant, international, and interdisciplinary research environment, which provides ample opportunities for collaboration with other groups within the MESA+ Institute. Additionally, the position includes funding for a research visit to the . This presents a valuable opportunity to enrich your experience and broaden your professional network in the field.REQUIREMENTS
