MaÃ(R)tre D’ – Beach Club Dining Concept – Barbados
We are seeking an experienced and charismatic MaÃ(R)tre D’ to lead front-of-house operations within a vibrant, high-volume beach club environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional who thrives in dynamic, guest-focused settings and brings both operational discipline and personality to the floor.
About the Role You will take full ownership of the guest experience and daily floor operations, working closely with senior leadership and a large, diverse service team. This role requires a strong presence, attention to detail, and the ability to manage high guest volumes while maintaining exceptional service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage front-of-house service with confidence and energy
Oversee daily operations across a team of ~60+ staff (waiters, hosts, bartenders, and beach team)
Drive guest satisfaction and handle VIP relations with professionalism
Work closely with the General Manager and floor managers to ensure seamless service
Maintain a strong focus on performance metrics and revenue awareness
Take initiative in elevating service standards and guest engagement
Deliver interactive dining elements (e.g., tableside fish preparation)
Ensure smooth coordination during both low and high-volume service periods
Ideal Candidate Profile
Previous experience as a MaÃ(R)tre D’ or senior floor leader in a European-style beach club or high-end all-day dining venue
Exposure to Mediterranean-inspired hospitality concepts is highly desirable
Strong leadership presence with a big personality , balanced by humility and professionalism
Guest-centric mindset with excellent interpersonal skills
Flexible and adaptable with scheduling (approx. 1pm-9pm or split shifts)
Confident managing high-volume service (up to 600-700 covers in peak season)
Commercially aware and numbers-driven
Operational Details
Open 7 days per week (team works 6 days)
Covers: 150-200 (low season) / 600-700 (high season)
Reporting line: General Manager
Supported by 4 Floor Managers
Compensation & Benefits
$3,000 – $3,500 USD per month
Weekly service charge (variable)
Annual flight home
