The School of Computing at the University of Leeds is a highly ranked academic department (top 10 in UK REF2021 ) with a vibrant research culture and a commitment to excellence in our teaching. We are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Scientific Computing (analogous to tenure track Assistant Professor) to join our internationally outstanding Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) activity. 

This position provides an exceptional opportunity to pursue your fundamental research in areas such as numerical algorithms and software, high performance computing and scientific machine learning, and to collaborate with applications scientists and engineers across the University of Leeds and beyond. We are looking for an academic with a proven track record of research in Scientific Computing, an interest in the development of high-quality numerical software, and an ability to teach more broadly in Computer Science in a research-intensive Russell Group University.

We are seeking candidates working in relevant areas of numerical computation, ideally with an interest in high performance computing, the software implementation of numerical algorithms or the application of methods to solve challenging problems in other scientific and engineering disciplines. We have a vibrant community of postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers supported by a large portfolio of external funding for research and research training, much of which is collaborative with other disciplines. For example, we are core partners in the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Fluid Dynamics at Leeds.
