The role: Health and Safety Manager

A leading facilities management provider is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to support high-profile contracts operating within a retail environment.

This role requires someone who understands the pace, terminology and compliance expectations of safety related operations. You will play a key role in embedding a strong safety culture across hard services and engineering delivery, ensuring compliance, consistency and continuous improvement.

The Role

* Lead health & safety strategy across the contracts
* Ensure full compliance with EN ISO standards (45001)
* Act as the subject matter expert for safety within a live operational retail environment
* Conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments across multiple sites
* Support operational teams in safe delivery of services within regulated environments
* Investigate incidents, identify root causes and implement corrective actions
* Engage with client stakeholders, ensuring alignment with safety expectations and standards
* Deliver training, toolbox talks and ongoing safety briefings
* Drive continuous improvement in safety performance and reporting

About You

* Proven experience in a Safety Manager or senior HSEQ role within facilities management
* Working knowledge of EN ISO 45001 and EN ISO 9001 systems and compliance
* IOSH or NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent)
* Confident communicator, able to influence operational teams and senior stakeholders
* Proactive, detail-oriented and solutions-focused
* Comfortable working across multiple sites in a fast-paced, operational setting

Experience & Skills

* Experience managing safety within high-footfall, public-facing environments
* Strong audit, reporting and compliance management capability
* Ability to build relationships with both internal teams and external clients
* Experience driving behavioural safety and cultural change initiatives
