About the role
In this role, you will work as part of a team who have responsibility for managing the University’s Governance portfolio, covering Corporate, Academic and Subsidiary Company Governance. Reporting to the Strategic Planning Manager (Governance), you will work towards ensuring the continued delivery of an effective and efficient Secretariat function, acting as Secretary or Working Secretary for key University committees and subsidiary company boards.   In addition, you will lead, plan and organise the annual cycle of meetings for relevant committees, working within the Corporate Governance Framework and Academic Governance Code of Practice and taking into account the scheduling of key decision making points.
About you
With experience in a directly comparable role, you will have significant exposure to a governance, accountability or compliance environment. You will be comfortable with negotiating and influencing at all levels to ensure successful outcomes, whilst ensuring you can effectively plan, prioritise and progress your work , using your initiative and judgement as required. 
Excellent communication skills are key, including a high standard of written work, with the ability to produce reports and present information clearly. We are also looking for someone proactive who displays a commitment to continuous improvement for both their team and themselves.
