Offer DescriptionThe competition is open to persons who meet the requirements set forth in Articles 113 and 116(2) of the Law
of July 20, 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science (i.e., Journal of Laws of 2022, item 574, as amended) and § 90, 92 – 94 of the Statute of the University of Economics in Katowice, and meet the following eligibility criteria:
– have at least a professional degree of Master of Science, Master of Engineering or equivalent with an all-academic profile obtained in the field of finance and accounting or economic analytics or computer science and econometrics or in another field of study with similar curricular content to one of the
of the three majors listed here,
– have an aptitude for research work confirmed by the opinion of a person holding a professorship or doctoral degree,
– have enclosed a list of publications or a concept for a scientific article on accounting-related issues,
– have attached a plan for scientific development for the next two years,
– speak at least one modern foreign language,
– have indicated the University of Economics in Katowice as their primary place of work within the meaning of the provisions of the Law on Higher Education and Science,
– preference will be given to candidates whose master’s thesis was devoted to financial accounting/financial reporting issues,– An additional advantage will be the use of English at the level of min. B2, to the extent that it is possible to conduct accounting exercises and publish research results in this language (knowledge of English confirmed e.g. by a diploma supplement, certificate or relevant statement),
– Attaching a list of publications in English or presenting a concept for a scientific article on issues related to financial accounting or financial reporting in English or a draft of such an article will be an additional asset,
– participation during the course of studies in a scientific circle in the field of accounting, finance, economic analytics or econometrics/statistics will be an additional advantage,
– participation during studies in accounting competitions will be an additional advantage,
– in the case of foreigners, it is necessary to demonstrate knowledge of the Polish language.The person hired for the position of Assistant in the Department of Accounting at the Department of Finance will be responsible for carrying out tasks related to: education of students of the University of Economics in Katowice, scientific development and research activities within the discipline of economics
and finance, including cooperation with scientific institutions and entities of the business environment in the implementation of the objectives of the Department and the University, organizational activities for the benefit of the Department/Division/University and other duties assigned by superiors.Planned date of employment: 01.09.2024.

The result of the competition is not tantamount to the employment of the candidate, and is only a recommendation to the rector. The final decision on employment is made by the rector.
