The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.

The impact you’ll make

We are looking for a Field Software / Service Engineer 4 to join our team in Meylan, France.

In this role, you will serve as the software expert within the Field Service organization, providing high-quality on-site support for all software-related activities, including software installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. You will work closely with the technical teams supporting both new system startups and the installed base of Lam equipment, while also sharing your expertise through training and mentoring of fellow Field Service Engineers.

A key aspect of this role is direct engagement with customers to ensure the successful and timely integration of Lam equipment into their automation environment. You will play a critical role in optimizing equipment performance, enabling seamless factory automation, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

• Technical
  • Drive and coordinate equipment software installation, upgrades or troubleshooting
  • Propose CIP (Continuous Improvement Plan) and/or any axis of improvement to improve Lam equipment reliability, productivity or robustness.
  • Determine, develop and apply technical solutions to complex problems
  • Ensure that issues and success criteria are properly defined and communicated
  • Coordinate activity, guide tests to be done, issue reports

• Project management
  • Drive projects planning and execution on mid and long term
  • Set priorities and monitor projects progress to plan
  • Set recommendations to customer on key/critical projects to engage into
• Training skills
  • Train and develop Field Service Engineers colleagues on software specifics
• Strategy
  • Manage customer satisfaction through KPI monitoring
  • Support customer and Lam internal needs for support to any software related activity.
• Customer management
  • Direct contact / up to daily work with customer management
  • Ensure that Lam is well represented and Lam image preserved at all time with customer
  • Set and drive customer meetings (technical, executive, …)
  • Own personal development, both technical and on soft skills
  • Be able/volunteer to support additional tasks required upon need

Who we’re looking for

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, Software or related field and 8+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 6+ years; or equivalent work experience.
• Previous semiconductor capital equipment industry is an advantage
• Report systems installation performances through targetted KPI
• Travels might be required as well as support to multiple customers as needed

Preferred qualifications

• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Fluent English , good level of French speaking is desired
• Project Management
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Utilizes worldwide knowledge base to ensure latest appropriate knowledge is effectively applied locally
• Expert level on Lam internal softwares and tools
• Excellent knowledge of Excel, Power Point, Work, SAP, …
