This role could be for you!About the role:We have new opportunity as a Compensation and Benefits Specialist to join our busy Pensions and Payroll team as part of the HR Operations service!The University has an on-going HR strategy to continuously review and improve the Total Reward package that currently includes a range of financial and non-financial benefits as well as a mix of defined and contribution benefits pension schemes.In this role, you will:

  • Be a key contributor to the University total reward strategy.
  • Work closely with the Pensions and Payroll Manager to support and develop a competitive, well-designed compensation & benefit offering to motivate, attract and retain high performing resources.
  • Be alert and responsive in recognising fresh enhancements for compensation, pension options and employee wellbeing and integral to subsequent design and promotion.
  • Use your knowledge of pension regulations to manage the operational transactions in accordance with statutory obligations.
  • Provide comprehensive advice to members and other stakeholders.
  • Design and communicate policy and tools to underpin employee financial confidence and understanding.

What we’re looking for:We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Knowledge of defined benefits and defined contribution pension schemes.
  • Experience in delivering high quality pension administration.
  • A good understanding of pension regulations.
  • Competent reconciliation and reporting skills.
  • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrable commitment to providing first-rate customer service.
  • The ability to work accurately and flexibly in a busy and constantly changing environment, both independently and as part of a team.
