We have a new opportunity for an experienced Compensation and Benefits Specialist to join our busy Pensions and Payroll team as part of the HR Operations service. The University has an on-going HR strategy to continuously review and improve the Total Reward package that currently includes a range of financial and non-financial benefits as well as a mix of defined and contribution benefits pension schemes.You will be a key contributor to the University total reward strategy. Working closely with the Pensions and Payroll Manager to support and develop a competitive and well-designed compensation and benefit offering to motivate, attract and retain high performing resources. You will be alert and responsive in recognising fresh enhancements for compensation, pension options and employee wellbeing and integral to subsequent design and promotion.You will have a good understanding of pension regulations to manage the operational transactions in accordance with statutory obligations and provide comprehensive advice to members and other stakeholders. You will design and communicate policy and tools to underpin employee financial confidence and understanding.You will have PAYE competency and excellent reconciliation and reporting skills using Excel, for example. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal and a demonstrable commitment to providing first-rate customer service.
