Area Business Manager – Interventional Oncology (London & SE)

Job Description Summary

In a rapidly changing and increasingly competitive healthcare environment, we are seeking to recruit a talented and dynamic Area Sales Manager, to further strengthen our organisational capabilities in the region within BD Interventional Oncology, reporting to the National Sales Manager.

In this commercial sales role you will be responsible for delivering quarterly and annual territory targets for promoted Interventional Oncology products by understanding the needs of our customers and positioning BD’s solution to meet those needs in a profitable manner.

The product portfolio includes PleurX / PeritX for acute drainage and Ports / CVC’s.

Our vision for BD Interventional at BD

BD Interventional (BDI) focus on leading innovation and life-enhancing devices in the field of surgical, endovascular, urological and critical care interventions aiming at advancing the treatment of high burden diseases and enabling surgical and interventional procedures.

About the role

In this exciting role you will be working on an exciting product, selling into a number of key areas within the hospital and community environment including:

  • Interventional Radiology

  • Palliative Care

  • Thoracic Surgery

  • Respiratory / Pulmonary Specialists

  • Cardiologists

  • Clinical Nurse Specialists

  • Oncologists

  • Vascular Access Specialists

  • District Nurses.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding customer goals & drivers to build strong and mutually beneficial relationships.

  • Proactively developing and implementing territory plans for sustainable, long term sales success.

  • Review and alter this plan in line with BDI strategy & direction.

  • Account management

  • Effective delivery of BDI Value Add Programmes (training & education).

  • Conduct and manage product evaluation / trials and in-service process as part of account conversion.

  • Work effectively with the National Sales Manager, IO team colleagues, Customer Services & Marketing to maximise business potential.

  • Achieves standards, expectations and performance as agreed with the NSM.

About you

  • The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent.

  • Highly motivated and action orientated and be comfortable taking the initiative

  • Comfortable working individually as well as part of a team and will demonstrate strong PC-literacy

  • Previous experience in NHS healthcare sales or come from a technical sales background with the desire to break into healthcare sales.

  • For candidates with previous healthcare experience previous theatre experience would be advantageous.
