Contract Type: Temporary, Term-Time Only

Hours: Flexible Options Available:

Option A (Full-Time): Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Option B (Part-Time Afternoons): Monday – Friday, 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM

Pay Rate: 14.24 – 15.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Start Date: ASAP (Until July 2027)

The Role: What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a deeply compassionate, intuitive, and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a wonderful child in our EYFS setting who is on the Autism spectrum and is currently non-verbal .

This rewarding role requires someone who can provide consistent, prompt support and gentle encouragement, helping this child navigate their environment, communicate their needs, and engage safely with early learning.

Key Responsibilities:

Prompt Support: Anticipating the child’s needs and providing immediate, reassuring guidance to keep them safe, focused, and happy.

Encouragement & Engagement: Using creative, sensory-based approaches to motivate the child and celebrate every single breakthrough, no matter how small.

Communication Strategies: Utilising non-verbal communication tools (such as PECS, Makaton, or visual timetables) to help the child express themselves and understand their daily routine.

Requirements:

Proven experience supporting children with Autism (ASD) and non-verbal communication needs , ideally within an Early Years or Nursery setting.

A calm, resilient, and deeply patient nature.
