Role Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and resilient Intervention Teacher to join our Alternative Provision team in Burnley . This specialised role focuses on delivering targeted 1:1 academic and emotional support to pupils who require a tailored approach outside of the standard classroom environment. You will work directly on the school site to bridge learning gaps and re-engage students with their education through personalised learning plans .

Detailed Responsibilities
The successful candidate will deliver bespoke 1:1 tuition sessions in core subjects like English and Maths while utilising trauma-informed teaching strategies to build strong rapport with students who have SEMH or ASC needs . You will be responsible for monitoring pupil progress closely and adjusting learning pathways to ensure 12 months of sustained academic growth . Collaboration is key, as you will work alongside the SENCO and external agencies to implement Education, Health and Care Plans in a nurturing, structured environment.

Requirements
Applicants must hold Degree or HLTA Quolified or have equivalent professional teaching experience, particularly within an Alternative Provision or SEN setting . You must be able to commit to the fixed working hours of 8:30 am to 3:30 pm and possess strong behaviour management skills paired with a non-judgemental approach. An enhanced DBS on the update service is required for this position, though we can assist with a new application if necessary.
