Full Job DescriptionOptions Autism are hiring Young Adult Support Worker in the Perth region!Role: Young Adult Support WorkerSalary: Up to £28,237.04 per annum (dependent upon experience and qualifications)Location: Falkland House School Perth, Fairmount Terrace, PerthHours: Permanent, 38 hours per weekShifts: Mixture of 07:30-14:30, 14:00-22:00 and 07:30-22:00 shifts Monday to Sunday on a set rota pattern.About usFalkland House School Perth and Am Bruach is an independent residential school for boys and girls from 12 to 23 years of age. Our young people have a range of Additional Support Needs including emotional and behavioural difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorder. We were the first independent school in Scotland (outside of the NAS) to receive accreditation from the National Autistic Society. We have three residential houses within the building, accommodating up to 29 young people.Falkland House School Perth opened in January 2023, currently supporting around 12 young people aged between 14 to 17 years of age towards greater independent living, support with college placements and community engagement.Am Bruach opened in July 2022 and currently support two young adults towards greater independence and life skills.We are part of the Options Autism and can promise you plenty of challenges, and a rich variety of opportunities to develop your career.Options Autism provide education and care across a number of schools and residential care homes nationally. We want to give you the best possible toolkit, to deliver outstanding care and support to our children and young people and help them achieve incredible outcomes.There will be a thorough induction, fully expensed training courses and the opportunity to expand your knowledge. You will be supported to gain the necessary qualification to meet SSSC registration requirements, and you will gain a firm understanding of autism spectrum disorder and associated support needs, within a positive, supportive working environment. It is a great opportunity to launch your career and see it flourish.The RoleAcross both our Falkland and Perth sites, creatively learning about the young people, their interests, dislikes and triggers, and using this connection to establish rewarding relationships is central to the role.At Perth, working with the young people as they move beyond school, you will strive to create a positive, engaging ethos of being socially involved and independent. You will work alongside them to support college placements, and promote community engagement that is sustained and productive. Overarching this, you will support the young people with their independent living, working with them to develop their skills and establish healthy routines.Who are we are looking for?You don’t need any experience to join our team. If you come from hospitality, the army, outdoor activity centres or an office-based job but are eager to help young people to live happy, fulfilling lives, this is the role for you.
