Our client, a well-established franchise-approved car dealership based in Leominster, is seeking an experienced and professional Workshop Controller to join their busy Service Department. Duties:
Managing day-to-day operations of the workshop team, including 8+ Vehicle Technicians and apprentices Ensuring efficient workflow distribution idolising team skills and capabilities Communicating with the Service Manager to implement the best workshop processes Overseeing customer vehicle progress, liaising with service reception to ensure customer satisfaction Monitoring workshop performance against KPIs and identifying areas for improvement Planning and scheduling work allocation, balancing workload and skills Identifying training and development needs within the team Maintaining workshop standards in accordance with health and safety regulations Ensuring adherence to brand service requirements and customer satisfaction indicators Supporting the team to deliver high-quality repair and service standards
Requirements for the Workshop Controller position:
Previous experience as a Workshop Controller or in a similar managerial role within an automotive service environment preferred; training will be provided to suitable Workshop Controllers Proven track record in an automotive aftersales role such as Vehicle Technician or Service Advisor Strong organisational and team management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Results-oriented with problem-solving and decision-making skills Focus on quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction IT literacy; experience with CDK/Kerridge systems advantageous Hold a valid UK driving licence with minimal points Reside within reasonable commuting distance of Leominster
