Oper currently has offices in Zürich, Switzerland, and Antwerp, Belgium.TasksYou will mainly work directly with our VP of Finance and support her on day-to-day tasks as well as on larger projects.What you will do

  • Support the core operational processes of our business, including weekly/monthly/quarterly business review cadence
  • Work together with our outsourced accounting teams and support them in the monthly and yearly closings
  • Prepare the monthly P&L and consolidation based on data provided by accountants
  • Streamline and manage our expense management software (Spendesk)
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable workflows, including invoice processing, procurement requests, and vendor/contractor payments
  • Actively challenge and optimize our accounting and reporting processes with a focus on automation.
  • Assess opportunities to bring certain accounting functions in-house to align with our strategic goals
  • Serve as a resource for employees on payment inquiries, invoice processing, and expense management tools
  • Ad hoc financial and operational projects as needed to support the VP of Finance and other leadership team members

RequirementsWhat you will bringWe are looking for an all-around talent who is motivated to support the management team in multiple areas of the company. Some key criteria that you should bring:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, preferably with a focus on Accounting.
  • Previous internships or work experience in accounting, finance, or business operations are highly valued.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving start-up environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong teamwork, communication (both verbal and written), and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional ability to manage multiple competing priorities, with a keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and mindset, with an openness to dynamic change.
  • Data-driven, curious, and an effective problem-solver.
