Overview

contextflow is an award-winning startup developing artificial intelligence-based software applications to support radiologists during clinical routine. Our team of deep learning and engineering experts use our own data flow framework for efficient deep learning development and benchmarking. Methods developed are aligned with data, annotation, clinical and IT requirements in mind and are deployed to hospital sites across Europe providing value in clinical routine to radiologists and to patients.

As Head of Finance, you will take full ownership of all fiscal and legal matters. You will support the executive management team in analyzing, managing and growing the business under existing financial constraints and in compliance with contextflow’s strategic goals, all the while managing the day-to-day financial operations. The Head of Finance will work alongside the CEO/COO to raise capital to fund the company’s growth strategy (especially in structuring such capital raises), create business plans for attracting additional equity investors and develop viable exit strategies.


As a Head of Finance, you will:

  • Deliver accurate financial information to the CEO, executive management team and investors in a timely manner
  • Coordinate the processes for financial budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning
  • Handle cash management and makes sure available funds are spent according to contextflow’s strategic and operational plans
  • Track and analyze financial results, initiate corrective actions to minimize impact of variances
  • Monitor achievement of financial goals and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Ensure that contextflow complies with all legal and regulatory requirements as well as internal policies
  • Implement and monitor risk management and internal control system to preserve company assets
  • Develop fundraising strategy to finance operations, corporate growth and investments into new business areas
  • Support the executive team in negotiations with customers and healthcare insurances to achieve reimbursement
  • Manage communication between contextflow and its investors, handling inquiries and meetings with investors
  • Elaborate potential exit scenarios and develops strategies, timelines and plans for execution
  • Maintain relationships with the financial community (equity and debt investors, banks and public sponsors).

Main responsibilities:

  • Improve financial accounting, reporting and planning system to fulfill requirements of auditors, government agencies and international investors
  • Prepare financial statements for audits and tax returns, maintain relationships with auditors, tax authorities and advisors
  • Track business plans and budgets based on financial goals and KPIs
  • Conduct cost calculations for pricing and investment decisions as well as cost-benefit studies for healthcare payers
  • Implement a strategic controlling tool for monitoring target markets and competitors incl. SWOT- and scenario analyses for strategic decision making
  • Establish a risk management and internal control system in compliance with laws and regulations
  • Elaborate employee stock option scheme to incentivize key personnel
  • Develop business plans and information memoranda for meetings and negotiations with investors
  • Seek for and pursue alternative sources of funding (debt and/or non-dilutive funding)
  • Arrange equity and debt investment rounds and negotiate legal agreements (in collaboration with CEO)
  • Negotiate licensing and collaboration agreements with suppliers, R&D and marketing partners (in collaboration with Business Development Manager).

 

What we are looking for:

  • Several years of experience in finance operations in a high-paced environment, or
  • Several years of experience in venture capital, private equity, corporate finance or M&A, with a strong motivation to enter operational finance
  • Structured work style and high level of self-motivation
  • Work permit in EU
  • Fluency in English
  • German language is a plus
  • Strong belief in growing together as a team
  • Empathy for each other
