Summary About the position: This position is located at the Warehouse. This is a NAF (Non-Appropriated Fund) position assigned to the 31st Force Support Squadron at Aviano AB, Italy. Responsibilities Receives incoming food shipments and verifies accuracy, quality and compliance with public health standards and the tri-service food code. Labels and properly stores food items in designated locations, ensuring proper rotation to maintain freshness. Performs regular inventory counts and reconciles physical stock with system records, promptly addressing any discrepancies. Monitors and manages perishable food items, adhering to first-in-first-out (FIFO) principles to minimize waste. Accurately picks, packs, and prepares food orders based on customer requirements ensuring proper handling and packaging. Utilizes Foodtrak or equivalent inventory management system to determine delivery needs. Enters inventory transactions, adjustments, and transfers into Foodtrak or equivalent inventory management system with precision and attention to detail. Maintains accurate records of food inventory levels, movements, and transactions. Generates and analyzes inventory reports, including expiration date tracking to identify trends and potential issues. Properly handles and stores food items, following temperature control guidelines and specific storage requirements. Utilizes appropriate material handling equipment and follows proper lifting and safety procedures. Occasional operation of a fork lift may be required. Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams, including warehouse associates, supervisors, and NAF accounting, to ensure compliance and smooth operations. Communicates food inventory-related information, concerns and updates to relevant stakeholders promptly. Performs all other duties as assigned as related to the position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Applicant must possess basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite applications. Ability to lift 10-40lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to meet deadlines. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Must possess attention to detail. Experience working in warehouse or inventory management role, highly desired. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices. Proficiency using Foodtrak and inventory management software and related tools, highly desired. Must be able to understand (FIFO) inventory and other inventory accounting principles. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit. Probationary period may be required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from hiring preferences and priority consideration eligible.
