Job Title: Vice President of Global Direct-to-Fan (D2F) Services

Location: London or New York

Your role:

The Vice President of Global Direct-to-Fan (D2F) Services will drive audience growth, engagement, and retention as a key pillar of WMG’s integrated global marketing strategy.

This leader will oversee the strategic development and execution of D2F marketing across CRM, artist websites, and audience analytics, ensuring alignment with regional and local teams to maximize impact.

This role will champion the value of D2F marketing within WMG by advancing data enrichment, optimizing fan touchpoints, and continually evolving tools and processes to drive meaningful connections and revenue across all artist-related initiatives.

Here you’ll get to:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and own the global Direct-to-Fan roadmap, driving strategic frameworks for CRM, web, audience data, and analytics.

  • Establish best practices for audience acquisition, engagement, retention, and data enrichment, ensuring adaptability across regions and local teams.

  • Promote the value of Direct-to-Fan marketing by fostering organizational understanding, celebrating best practices, and creating a culture of innovation.

Functional Integration and Alignment:

  • Oversee the seamless integration of CRM, web, audience data, and analytics across global and regional teams, ensuring consistent execution and value delivery.

  • Optimize third-party support for email delivery and web development, aligning with the operational needs of regional and local teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration (xFN):

  • Ensure a strong working relationship with our WMX eCommerce teams, to drive alignment and efficiencies across these highly integrated functions.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in tech, marketing data, and M&A to advance WMG’s MarTech and D2F data enablement roadmap.

Global Campaign Delivery:

  • Partner with Repertoire Owners and our Global Marketing teams to design tailored D2F approaches for highest priority global artist campaigns.

  • Ensure seamless integration of D2F strategies into wider artist marketing efforts being delivered by our marketing teams across the world.

  • Lead scaled Direct to Fan operational teams (i.e. CRM operations) that provide servicing to all global WMG artists. Build and integrate these functions across our regional teams, to build towards the delivery 24 hour servicing

CRM & Web Strategy:

  • Establish CRM as a unified global function, developing workflows and processes that align across global, regional and local teams.

  • Drive collaboration between CRM, web, and analytics to optimize fan journeys, SEO strategies, and data collection for enhanced audience engagement.

  • Partner with the WMX eCommerce team to integrate strategies that maximize both revenue and fan data.

Audience Data:

  • Advance the adoption and utility of WMG’s CIP data system across the organization.

  • Partner with WMG’s Global Privacy Team to ensure compliance across data capture across multiple geographies with varying data laws.

  • Network effectively within the live and e-commerce industry (beyond WMG), to set best practices around ticket pre-sales, checkout opt-ins and any other potential data acquisition partnerships.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor the Direct-to-Fan Services team across multiple geographical locations, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and professional development.

Financial Oversight:

  • Manage the budget for global D2F services, regularly evaluating costs against impact to optimize resource allocation.

  • Design cost-sharing and recharge models that support global, regional, and local business goals.

About you:

  • A strategic thinker with 10-12+ years experience and a proven track record in leading global Direct to Fan (Direct Marketing) strategy within music or entertainment industries

  • An exceptional collaborator with experience aligning global cross-functional teams and inspiring diverse groups to achieve ambitious goals

  • Skilled in managing complex budgets, prioritizing resource allocation, and optimizing return on investment

  • Demonstrable leadership experience across digital marketing and/or audience development teams

  • Strong programme management skill set with an understanding of strategic and operational needs of a cross-functional Direct-to-Fan marketing team

  • Passion for music, an understanding of the evolving music landscape and the role of a record label within this
