Offer DescriptionRectorof Wrocław University of Life Sciencesannounces an open competition for the position of university professorin the group of research and teaching staffin the Department and Clinic of SurgeryDescription of tasks in the position:

• Conducting research activities in the field of general and experimental surgery including obtaining external funds for research projects;
• Preparing and teaching classes in the field of general surgery in English or German;
• Dissemination of research results in the form of scientific publications in journals indexed in the SCOPUS or Web of Science database;
• Participation in scientific conferences/symposia (national and international);
• Participation in workshops and trainings to improve professional competence;
• Participation in organizational work for the benefit of the unit and the university;
• other tasks assigned by the head of the unit, resulting from the profile and nature of the unit and the university.

Requirements for the candidate:

• holds at least a doctoral degree in general and experimental surgery;
• after obtaining the doctoral degree, has significant scientific achievements, making a significant contribution to the development of specific general and experimental medicine, including publications in journals indexed in the Scopus or Web of Science database;
• has the right to practice the profession;
• has teaching experience at the academic level in conducting exercises and lectures in general surgery;
• serves or has served as a coordinator on the part of the university, or directs or has directed a research project funded by a domestic or foreign research funding institution (has an award and/or clearance decision for the research project);
• has demonstrated significant scientific activity carried out in cooperation with more than one university or scientific institution, especially foreign ones (confirmed by joint projects or publications);
• has completed at least a 6-month research internship(s) in foreign universities or scientific institutions or a post-doc in a research project;
• knows English at a minimum level. B2;
• meets the criteria indicated in Art. 113 of the Act of July 20, 2018, Law on Higher Education and Science:
• enjoys full public rights;
• has full legal capacity;
• has not been convicted by a final judgment of an intentional crime or an intentional fiscal offence;
• has not been punished with a disciplinary penalty of expulsion from a university with a ban on working in universities for a period of 6 months to 5 years or deprivation of the right to practice as an academic teacher for a period of 10 years.
