Offer DescriptionRECTOR OF THE SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY announces the competition for the position of university professor in the group of research and teaching employees in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Process Design at the Faculty of Chemistry at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, 2A Akademicka St.Job description:
1) the competition for the position of univeristy professor is open to persons who meet the requirements specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended) and the Statute of the Silesian University of Technology of 3 June, 2019 (Legal Monitor of SUT of 2020, item 339 as amended),
2) estimated work commencement date: 01.03.2025,
3) workplace and type of contract: Department of Chemical Engineering and Process Design at the Faculty of Chemistry, full-time contract of employment,
4) period of employment: from 01.03.2025 to 28.02.2029 (with the possibility of extension).Requirements:
1) habilitated doctor’s degree (DSc) in engineering in the discipline of chemical engineering,
2) documented scientific achievements with a total Hirsch index, HI of not less than 12, and the number of citations of not less than 250, excluding self-citations,
3) at least 5 years of experience in conducting teaching classes,
4) fluency in spoken and written Polish to an extent that allows to conduct classes in Polish (applies to candidates for whom Polish is not the native language),
5) knowledge of English at least at C1 level.Additional requirements:
1) scientific experience in the field of chemical engineering, in particular: the kinetics and thermodynamics of heterogeneous catalysis processes and phase transformations of materials, including numerical modeling, and in the synthesis of new materials by heterogeneous catalysis, with particular emphasis on nanomaterials, kinetics of processes in multiphase systems, documented in publications in high-scoring magazines from the MEiN list,
2) experience in scientific cooperation in research projects, and managing research projects (at least 3),
3) experience in scientific cooperation with other scientific and research centres,
4) completing a foreign scientific internship (min. 2 months) at a leading research centre in the field of Chemical Engineering.
5) authorship or co-authorship of at least 4 publications, published in the last 5 years, in journals from the JCR list, each for at least 140 points according to the MEiN list.Required documents:
