Offer Description
Your Responsibilities

• Co-supervision of  student exercises and  laboratory exercises of the IEAM. Contribution to the design or revision of existing exercises  and other lecture materials.
• Design and development of new drive concepts in the field of small and micro drives (including PCB motors), including their electronic control (interaction between (power) electronic components and motor, noise development, heat management and robustness). Software development and connection to commercially available programs for analytic and numerical simulation of the electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical behavior of electrical machines and drives. Corresponding experimental investigations. Technical and economic optimization of electric drives and their systems.
• Completion of a dissertation in these fields.
• Participation in administrative tasks of the institute (e.g. through participation in national and international specialist committees and organizations).

Completed Master’s degree or diploma in electrical engineering.

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 45,882.20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.

Skills/Qualifications

Desired qualifications: Experience and own research results in  the design and numerical simulation, as well as experimental investigation of small electrical machines, including PCB motors, their principle working mechanisms, losses and efficiency, cost factors, and parasitic effects such as vibrations. 

In addition, we would like you to have: a strong sense of self initiative, a high ability to work in teams as well as of self organization, a generic curiosity about engineering problems  and  interest in interdisciplinary questions.
