Description of the Assignment: Website Revamp Scoping Consultant

 

Type of Contract: Individual Contractor (IC)

Starting date: 19th of December

 

Expected duration of the assignment: 4 months

 

United Nations Volunteers’ corporate website gives the front-facing information of the organization to internal and external audiences.

The projected plans include revamping the website and therefore a thorough scoping is needed to understand the main requirements at every level.

UNV internal levels include: UNV Headquarters, Regional Offices, and UNV Field Units, and external levels include: global external audiences.

 

There are four main objectives to this end:

a) Undertake a complete scoping exercise of the website that includes primary research of what the website is being used for (e.g. looking for vacancies via UNV, recruitment of volunteers by UN entities, information on UNV, etc.)

b) Scope on how to improve the User Interface (UI) of the current website (e.g. less cluttered, etc.) with the primary goal of making the website mobile responsive and Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

c) Scope what new elements are needed to make the website interactive (e.g. videos, etc.), which includes carrying out consultations with internal UNV user groups – up to 20 individuals – on needs.

d) Scope the accessibility requirements to ensure the website is fully compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) at AA level, aligning with the United Nations Disability Strategy, including features such as screen reader compatibility and other essential accessibility functions.

The proposal should be submitted directly in the portal no later than the indicated deadline.
