Resumen:Underwriting Analyst Intern – International Financial Lines – BarcelonaExciting opportunity to join Beazley’s International Financial Lines team from as soon as September 2024. We are looking for an Underwriting Analyst Intern who will have the amazing opportunity of working in the most iconic towers of Barcelona in the Financial Sector, based in the hip, tech district for a period of around 6-months.The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and personable individual with a background in Finance and the ability to read financial reports and balance sheets, who is keen to develop their skills in a dynamic team. The applicant must still be studying at University and able to speak Dutch/Flemish and English to qualify for the role.   • Support the team throughout the process of underwriting financial risks, gaining exposure to the insurance sector and learning from a team of highly experienced underwriters.
  • Analyse data relating to commercial or financial institutions (financial statements, regional economic trends and industry conditions) in order to elaborate financial and business analyses.
  • Complete internal documentation required for the risk analysis and support the underwriters in developing regional business plans for all continental European countries.
  • Assess and analyse potential risks in the field of Financial Lines Insurance, examples of Financial Lines Insurance include Directors and Officers liability, professional liability, crime, employment practice liability and IPO insurance.

Personal Specification:

  • Currently studying towards a Bachelor of Business Administration, a Master (or MSc) in Finance or a related field with a good understanding of the financial markets and ability to analyse and summarize complex financial data into meaningful information.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch or Flemish is essential, another European language would be desirable.
  • The suitable candidate must be able to deliver high standards of work, while being positive and ensuring excellent customer service at all times.
  • The postholder should have strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritise a varied workload.
  • The chosen intern is required to be results orientated, flexible and enthusiastic with a professional attitude and the ability to provide internal stakeholders with exceptional support.
