The positions are fixed-term full-time positions for 2 years. The Department of Biomedicine prioritises diversity and a good work environment, as this is a prerequisite for groundbreaking research. In a diverse and international research environment, dedicated employees are looking to generate new knowledge within biomedical research areas such as infection and inflammation, membranes, neuroscience and personalised medicine. The Department of Biomedicine provides research-based teaching of the highest quality and is responsible for a large part of the medical degree programme. Academic staff contribute to the teaching. English is the preferred language in the laboratory, at meetings and at seminars. The department employs approx. 500 people from all over the world, and they make use of the department’s modern laboratory-, core- and animal facilities. You can read more about the department and about the faculty .About the research projectThe research projects are supported by the Novo Nordisk Foundation data science programme (CRISPRnet) and the Lundbeck Foundation Ascending Investigator (LNP-CRISPR). The overall aim of our research projects is advancing genome engineering technology and applications in gene therapy by improving its design and delivery. The CRISPRnet project aims to develop a more accurate and robust deep learning model for CRISPR design through the generation of high throughput activity and specificity dataset in cells. We will use the high-throughput CRISPR on-target and off-target detection methods, TRAP-Seq and SURRO-seq, which were developed by our group. The LNP-CRISPR project aims to improve and develop in vivo CRISPR delivery efficiency and specificity through the optimization of lipid nanoparticles (LNP). Both projects will be carried out at the hosting lab (www.dream.au.dk) at the Department of Biomedicine, Aarhus University, and in close collaboration with the research teams from UCPH and other institutions.Your job responsibilitiesAs Postdoc your position is primarily research-based but may also involve teaching assignments.
