We are looking for a colleague based in Grimbergen (GD1) who will manage the transportation flows of CAT Mannheim Gensets and Factory Managed Parts for HMS (Hydraulic Mining Shovels), ERS (Electric Rope Schovels) and DGL (Draglines) from EAME suppliers to our CAT global dealer network.

Job Duties

Efficiently design, plan, implement and optimize the transportation service solutions for CAT Mannheim gensets and FMP Parts (shipments directly from suppliers to dealers) that support Caterpillar’s quality, velocity and cost objectives using Lean methodology,

Planning and supervision of these shipments from early production stages to the dealer/end-user by liaising with our factory, suppliers, procurement and external partners (vessel capacity)

Close collaboration with internal business partners (e.g. procurement) to investigate and suggest cost-effective shipping methods to facility sales support

Monitor transportation execution milestones with event and disruption management.

Manages the performance of Service Providers through Key Performance Indicators

Ensures required visibility in EVIZ for our dealers

Develop, implement, document, maintain and update standard operations procedures and processes with our partners (facilities, suppliers, service providers and dealers)

Initiate and maintain customer interactions to align with their business/priorities
Background/Experience
Team player, strong in customer service and building relationships to interface with the facility, suppliers, CAT Project Cargo team, and diverse transportation and procurement origin teams, dealers and external service providers such as Shipping Lines, Freight Forwarders, Trucking Companies, Air providers.
The candidate must possess and demonstrate the following attributes and capabilities:

The position requires a college or university degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in International/Project Cargo transportation

Strong knowledge of the global transportation market, international supply chain and its cost drivers. Experience with the means of transporting materials, flows to manufacturing facilities and customers.

Problem solving by having knowledge of tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving operational or process problems.

Strong communication and analytical skills.

Experience with Power BI, Salesforce apps, TMS and EVIZ
-
Well organized, initiative-taking and ability to deal with deadlines.

Ability to work independently.
-
Available for occasional business travel.

Fluent English (written and oral), other languages are an asset

Transportation – PHA: Knowledge of and experience with the means of transporting materials and goods to and from suppliers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities and customers the manufacturing facility.

• Ensures on time shipments; anticipates and resolves shipping problems.
• Describes common costs and associated billing and freight payment procedures.
