The role
We are offering an exciting new role for a Project Engineer within the Training Equipment Project Management Team based in HMS Collingwood.
This role will have the responsibility for all Project engineering and technical disciplines within projects and will schedule, plan and forecast resources whilst managing all the technical activities aimed at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.
Main duties will include:
Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects.
Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field.
Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status.
Assign responsibilities and mentor project team.
Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support.
Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
Maintaining cleanliness to ensure health & safety standards on-site.
Hosting frequent meetings with teams to build morale and inform them of their daily activities.
Working with third-party contractors to develop viable time scales and working practices.
Be ‘Responsible for championing and fostering a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement’.
Any other duties required to complete the Training Equipment Service.
Essential:
Eligible to work in the UK and must possess (or be able to obtain) SC level security clearance.
An adequate knowledge of and compliance with the Health and Safety policy and regulations consistent with their responsibilities.
Proven experience of applying project engineering/electrical principles practically (ideally in a military technical environment).
Excellent knowledge of design and visualisations software such as AutoCAD/VISIO
Advanced MS Office skills
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with project team members, clients, and superiors at all levels and in all areas of management.
Ability to work under pressure and coordinate simultaneous activities with groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency.
A proven mediator for Dispute Resolution.
Works collaboratively with colleagues and others within and outside the organization.
Full UK Driving Licence with the ability to travel between Selborne sites.
Desirable:
Demonstrates a commitment to continuing professional development (CPD).
Time management and organizational skills
IOSH Level 3 Managing Safely.
Desired Education:
Current engineer license
BSc degree in Engineering or relevant experience
