Here at XPO, we take our people seriously. We’re looking for a Trainee Transport Coordinator to join us on a full-time, permanent basis on a rotating shift at our Darlington site, on the 6am to 2pm / 12noon to 8pm shifts, with occasional Night shift cover for annual leave

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Tocost effectively plan and dispatch routes to achieve contractual delivery times, conducting remedial planning to effectively manage live changes to the plan.

• To review the cost effectiveness of routes through KPI analysis, taking remedial action where necessary

• To ensure all administrative traffic duties are carried out as necessary and to a high level of accuracy and professionalism

• To liaise with line management to ensure the effective use of hire vehicles / sub contractors minimising the cost impact to the business

• To ensure that details of vehicle accidents are escalated to line management

• To ensure that defected vehicles are recorded on traffic sheets

What you need to succeed at XPO:

• Working knowledge of driver hours regulations

• Good geographical knowledge of the UK

• Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements

• Financial Understanding

• Operational understanding of team roles
