Position Overview

Within the Trade Finance Operations department located in Milan, we are looking for a Guarantee specialist.

Responsabilities

The Guarantee specialist is accountable for the processing of instructions for the operational handling of a guarantee request/document, received by the bank.

The Guarantee specialist may process requests and documents aimed to e.g. issuance, amendment, advising, scrutiny, book-off of Guarantees or Standby Letter of Credit, manages related swifts and perform the transactional compliance due diligence.

This involves understanding the customers’/third banks’ instructions and capturing the data from the documents into the trade finance processing platform.

Guarantee specialist will also be responsible for the mitigation of Operational and Regulatory risks observed during the verification or processing of Guarantees/ Standby Letter of Credit (SBLCs) and related documents, by providing control measures.

The Guarantee specialist also manages internal stakeholders by adhering to agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and manages customer requirements.

Skills, Education & Experience

The selected candidate should possess a diploma/first degree in banking, finance or a related field, and should have a working experience of at least 3 / 4 years in a trade finance operations function with a particular focus in guarantees business. He/she will be in charge of guarantees business processing and maintenance in a timely manner.

Further to the above the candidate should have a positive attitude, willing to learn, ability to work in a team, meticulous, pro-active, able to work independently when needed, demonstrating strong analytical and communication skills, good interpersonal skills and able to multitask in a demanding and fast paced environment. Be computer literate and conversant in MS office applications. Italian languages is a must, proficient in written and spoken English, understanding of other languages would be an added value.
