It facilitates co-operation among countries with advanced nuclear technology infrastructures to seek excellence in nuclear safety, technology, science, related environmental and economic matters and law. The mission of the NEA is to assist its 34 member countries in maintaining and further developing, through international co-operation, the scientific, technological and legal bases required for a safe, environmentally sound and economical use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. It strives to provide authoritative assessments and to forge common understandings on key issues as input to government decisions on nuclear technology policies.THE POSITIONAs governments around the world consider the future direction of their energy policies, many have concluded that building new nuclear energy capacity is critical to meeting objectives to ensure energy security in the long-term while meeting carbon reduction goals. As they do so, the availability of trained engineers, scientists and highly trained trade personnel presents significant challenges to many countries. The NEA is working with its members to undertake new efforts to enhance member country human resources to implement ambition nuclear energy deployment plans. The NEA Office of Policy and Co-ordination works with the Agency’s technical divisions to implement activities in this area.The NEA seeks a dynamic, proven Multilateral Initiatives Project Manager to organise and propel the Agency’s cross-cutting efforts in the area outlined above. S/he will work under the supervision of the Head of the Office of Policy and Co-ordination and work directly with the Director-General and other senior officials of the Agency.Job DescriptionMain ResponsibilitiesAnalysis and Drafting
