On time.The DepartmentThe Upstream Development group is responsible for cell line development, cell culture process development, fermentation process development, process characterization, and upstream process and technology transfers. Projects range from early pre-clinical development through all phases of clinical development all the way to commercial supply. Upstream Development is also responsible for all cGMP cell banking activities, design of platform processes, and evaluation and implementation of new upstream technologies and techniques. The work environment in our department is very informal. There is constant collaboration across the entire organization, and all employees have a very professional and flexible attitude towards their work.Collaborate with highly skilled scientists and technicians.You will be part of a team of scientists and technicians developing mammalian cell lines and processes in our high-capacity cell line development lab. We work closely together as a team, and your main task will be to develop and evaluate mammalian cell lines and conduct experiments and practical laboratory work – from the initial design of DNA constructs, through cell line development, top-clone selection, all the way to process evaluation in bioreactors. Working at a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization allows you to gain experience with many different cells, products, equipment, and process types in a relatively short time.Gain insight into the industry and develop your skills.You will work cross-functionally and on a wide range of different projects. The work is usually performed on customer projects in close collaboration with personnel from other development departments. Hence, alongside your team, you will gain insight and experience through a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization, where you will collaborate with other development areas, including Downstream Development and Analytical Development. The cell line development team is in close contact with our counterparts working at our US facility in Seattle.Trained laboratory technician with hands-on experience or newly graduated and eager to learn about cell line development process?Optimally, you are a trained laboratory technician or hold a similar degree and you have hands-on experience with cell line development from previous positions as a technician. Moreover, you have experience in the following areas:

  • Cell biology and cell line development
  • Cloning and molecular biology
  • Cell cultivation of mammalian cells
  • Cell Banking
  • Writing documents in proficient English

Experience with handling bench-scale bioreactors and working in compliance with quality standards and systems is a significant advantage.If you are a newly graduated laboratory technician with the right attitude who is eager to learn, develop, and get experience with cell line development this is a great opportunity for you.
