Your new role – why is this a great opportunity

We are seeking a motivated laboratory- technician to support antibody-based therapeutic projects in Lundbeck’s research pipeline. The primary responsibilities will include cell maintenance and protein expression in HEK293 and CHO cell lines, including process optimisation and implementation of new technologies. Your work will range from multi-well plate scale to 20L Wave bioreactor producing standard IgG and engineered second generation biologics.

You will work closely together with other technicians as well as scientists to plan and perform experiments and interpret data. Joining Antibody Engineering and Biochemistry will build on existing skills to produce biotherapeutics for research project teams and will provide opportunities to develop new technical and scientific expertise.

The Antibody Engineering and Biochemistry department is part of the Biotherapeutic Discovery organisation that is responsible for antibody discovery, engineering, expression, purification, and characterisation of drug candidates for Lundbeck’s R&D pipeline.

Your future team

Antibody Engineering and Biochemistry is an international team of 12 dedicated professionals, including scientists, research assistants and technicians committed to developing effective and innovative biotherapeutics for patients with brain disorders. As part of Lundbeck Research, we are responsible for selecting and optimizing antibody-based drug candidates. We are an integral part of research projects and collaborate closely with other departments to accelerate the discovery and development of novel biotherapeutics.

The position is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, where we have recently moved into our new state of the art research facilities for Biotherapeutic Discovery that sets a stimulating frame for our work and team.

What you bring to the team

-Education and experience as lab technician
-Experience with protein expression using transient and/or stable transfections of mammalian cells (HEK and CHO).
-Ability to work individually with a problem-solving attitude combined with a strong motivation for teamwork.
-Enjoy working and collaborating in a team with communication in both oral and written English.
Supplementary skills or experience of interest:

-Protein purification in particular Immunoglobulin affinity purification
-Experience in analytical methods for biotherapeutics (e.g HPLC, DSF, DLS or protein-protein interactions using SPR or BLI)
-Basic molecular biology
-Data management and tech savviness
