This post is full time and permanent, working 35 hours per week.The College of Design, Creative and Digital Industries (DCDI) at the University of Westminster is excited to announce a new opportunity for a 3D Modeler. Our college is at the forefront of integrating technology with creative disciplines, fostering an environment where innovation thrives.As a 3D Digital Modelling Technician, the successful appointee will be instrumental in the daily activities of our digital team. They will collaborate closely with the Technical Team Leader and other technical staff to provide high-quality support for both new and existing courses in Media, Arts, Design, and Technology. The role includes managing specialist software (e.g., Maya, ZBrush, Blender) and hardware, running workshops, and supporting our students’ digital workflows.You will guide students and staff in using 3D modelling tools, contributing to the enhancement of their creative projects across various disciplines. Whether it’s a fashion student creating a virtual catwalk or a Fine Art student creating a model to 3D print, your expertise will be vital. You will ensure the safe and effective use of our cutting-edge facilities, fostering a collaborative environment among the technical team.The successful candidate must be a knowledgeable technician with a degree in a relevant field and a strong background in 3D modelling and texturing technologies. Your experience includes training users, maintaining high standards of safety, and working effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
