We are seeking Technician 3 for our Bioassay Department located in Ballina, Co. Mayo 

Please note there is a Permanent contract and a 12 month Fixed Term contract available.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Bioassay Supervisor this role shall be responsible for the following:           

-Carry out potency testing, including preparation of samples and dilutions required
-Checking environmental conditions daily i.e. temperature, humidity and room pressure.
-Compliance with all health and safety regulations and procedures.
-Operation of basic computer programmes.
-Maintain recordkeeping to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and with the principles of GMP as required.
-Review of data and Archiving.
-Curator duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
-Complete, sign and date all documentation/data capture forms and relevant logbooks.
-Any other duties/responsibilities requested by the Supervisor
-Opportunity to be Deputy Technician in charge to assigned clients as the role develops
-Participation in training programmes

Job Qualifications

Leaving certificate or equivalent – a science qualification is desirable.

-Experience with working with animals would be advantageous.
-Ability to work overtime including weekends and weekdays
-Have a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to work as part of a team
-Strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills
-Passion for animal welfare
-Operation of basic computer programmes
-Ability to work in a fast paced environment
 

This is a physically demanding role and you will be active and on your feet for most of the working day.
