Job Summary

We are looking for TECHNICIANS to join our Laboratory Sciences unit at our Kuopio site.  

Main duties and responsibilities: 

– performs practical laboratory work 

– daily care and maintenance of animals 

– performs research techniques in laboratory animals in models of CNS (Central Nervous System) disease, such as dosing, sample collection and handling 

– participates in the preparation, data collection, documentation and input of measurements as needed for the experiment  

– other support functions of the unit and assistance in other tasks as needed  

 

Job Qualifications

Requirements:  

– suitable qualifications acquired through vocational training, such as animal maintenance, laboratory technician or bio analyst  

– previous experience in solution preparation, laboratory equipment, laboratory animal work or sample collection and handling are considered an advantage 

– basic computer skills, e.g., Microsoft Office software  

– good oral and written English skills are considered an advantage  

– effective teamwork and active communication are essential
