This means scaling up the offshore capacity by realizing multiple 2GW grid connection systems, in a relatively short amount of time, while also continuing the construction of planned 700MW and 900MW grid connection systems. As TenneT, we need to secure the supply of today and tomorrow in order to contribute to a successful European energy transition. As LPO, we therefore aim to deliver our projects as promised, provide an attractive working environment, and we need to change and adapt our organization to deliver 40GW until 2030.As a Technical Specialist Unexploded Ordnance (UXO)/ Survey you will be providing expertise on marine geoscience surveys, with their application to support the installation of marine power cables. This covers many aspects of a cable programme, from burial tool selection to route preparation. In close collaboration with your colleagues, you will improve ground models and help ensure smooth UXO operations for TenneT’s 2 GigaWatt programme. Key focus area include:
- You Support the project management for cable installation with expertise in relation to Burial Assessment Studies, seabed mobility, ground modelling, analysis of installation difficulties and review of final as laid documentation.
- In this role you provide technical expertise on geophysical and geotechnical surveys prior to an installation as well as post lay surveys, UXO surveys, and UXO identification and clearance programmes for colleagues working in both German and Dutch offshore projects.
- You ensure and check project documentation, data quality, and monitor changes to cable installation plans across all phases of the project.
- You act as technical support in tendering, negotiating, and contracting in the field of offshore survey and explosive ordnance clearance.
- You coordinate and brief teams of Client Representatives and control the works whether; on site, on the vessel or at local site offices, as well as cooperate closely with all companies involved in the project on a technical level.
Your profile and backgroundThis position requires an academic working and thinking level and a relevant university degree (Uni/ FH) across relevant fields such as survey, geophysics, or geology. Alternatively, you have a comparable industry qualification. Most ideally you;
- have profound working experience within a range of marine operations, preferably with offshore installation works, offshore survey experience, and an offshore aptitude.
- have sound experience with ArcGIS or equivalent Geographic Information Systems. A working knowledge of CAD systems such as AutoCAD are an advantage.
- show independence, initiative, and the ability to work in a team. You are active team member, if necessary, helping other Technical Specialists within the group in areas of your own specialization.
- have natural as strong communication skills and very good English skills. Dutch languages skills are of course an advantage.
- are willing to travel and have a valid driver’s license.
