Baroid Norway continues to expand and as such we are looking for a candidate to join the technical department as a Technical Advisor. The person we are seeking will focus on engineering and customizing fluid solutions ensuring superior service delivery by understanding and meeting customer needs at all times.

Job description:

Direct report to the Norway Technical Manager for Baroid.

To lead and to be responsible for the Fluids selection and design for all customers.

Candidate will provide technical support and guidance on both over-burden, P&A and Reservoir Fluids issues to all TPs and the greater Baroid technical group. This will include directing laboratory projects.

Will participate in the on-going support and education of the TPs with respect to technical and black book processes.

Define drilling and reservoir fluids technology needs for now and for the future; focus on new concepts and front new fluids technology both internally and externally to the customer base.

Provide fluids technical support and advice in tender processes.

Develop the organization in line with management, and to enhance communication and synergism with other PSLs.

Qualifications:

Engineer/technologist with minimum 10 years relevant experience sufficient to be deemed a SME (subject-matter expert) based on experience and knowledge of Drilling & Reservoir Drill-in and Completion Fluids.

Educated to degree level (as a minimum).

Personal qualities:

Ability to inspire and develop others.

Excellent verbal and written presentation skills.

Ability to convert theoretical evaluations into operational practice.

Open and honest.

Must be able to communicate at all levels and work well in a team environment.

The position requires that you champion the Company’s HSE procedures.
