Role Purpose:

Drive business growth by identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing customer opportunities through proactive engagement, anticipation of needs, and value creation. Serve as a subject matter expert, facilitating knowledge transfer within the organization and contributing to the development of Unique Selling Propositions (USPs) for our product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Relationship Management: Manage the technical relationship with customers in France and other assigned regions. Focus primarily on accounts classified as “value-added” or “premium,” while providing selective support to “standard service seeker” accounts.
  • Business Development: Scout for new development opportunities and drive customer projects from concept to completion, including sample supply, evaluation, and final implementation.
  • Technical Solutions: Identify customer needs and translate them into concrete offerings, leveraging R&D support when necessary. Connect needs with portfolio solutions across multiple categories (Food, Feed, and Non-food).
  • Project Management: Ensure speed of response, optimize time-to-market, and effectively manage customer expectations and communication.
  • Quality & Specifications: Negotiate and manage product specifications with customers and internal operations; proactively prevent and resolve out-of-spec situations.
  • Events & Training: Organize customer workshops and technical trainings. Represent the company at exhibitions and trade fairs (stand duty) covering the entire portfolio.
  • Application Development: Support the creation of product USPs through application development and demonstrations.
  • Networking: Build and maintain visibility within the local technical community (e.g., participating in expert groups or advisory boards).
  • Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to the “collective conscience” of the Technical Service (TS) team by sharing experiences and insights.
  • Market Intelligence: Actively share observations and competitor insights with Marketing, Sales, and Product Management teams.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Education: BSc or MSc degree (or equivalent) in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, or Food Innovation.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years (preferably 5 years) of relevant experience in the food industry.
  • Specialization: Strong background in oils & fats applications (product & process development) is highly preferred. Experience in confectionery, bakery, or plant-based sectors (B2B and B2C) working with multinational food ingredient companies is essential.
  • Skills:
    • Strong track record of successful customer project management and product/application development.
    • Excellent communication skills, active listening, and a result-oriented mindset.
    • Self-starter, proactive, commercially focused, and a strong team player.
  • IT: Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), CRM (Salesforce), and ERP (SAP).
  • Languages: Native French speaker.
    Fluent in English. Italian and Spanish are a plus.
  • Travel: Willing and able to travel nationally and internationally (approx. 25% of the time).
