Technical Sales Specialist (TSS), CMD Software
Digital transformation is becoming a strategic imperative for companies to succeed. We are
looking for a Technical Sales Specialist within our Chromatography and Mass
Spectrometry Division to help our customers make that transformation. The right candidate for
this position is someone who enjoys helping customers understand how our digital technologies
and scientific software can help them do their important work like develop and make vaccines,
find cures for cancer, protect the environment, or make sure our food is safe.
What will you do
• Drive commercial sales of Software within an assigned geographical sales
territory focused mostly on the UK and Ireland but potentially including other countries across EMEA
• Understand customer’s workflows and processes, digital requirements and business and
technology strategy.
• Establish relationships with senior decision makers and generate excitement around Thermo
Fisher Scientific Enterprise Software Solutions for analytical technologies such as
Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry in QC and R&D across multiple industries.
• Partner with our account managers, industry specialists and software services teams to
help drive a software sales lifecycle from initial trigger through to customer success.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Scientific or Information Technology field, or meaningful
experience.
Experience
• Experience in selling scientific software and/or capital equipment into markets such as
Pharma, Life Sciences, Mining, Chemical, Oil and Gas, Environmental Food & Beverage or
Government Agencies.
• Some experience within commercial laboratory environments and of working with
scientific software, especially for chromatography, mass spectrometry or other analytical
technology.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
• Confident communicator, able to present to our innovative software solutions that drive
greater efficiencies
• Knowledge of analytical technologies such as gas and liquid chromatography and mass
spectrometry.
• Curious about modern IT trends such as cloud infrastructure and passionate about how
digital technologies can help solve problems.
• Some business and commercial competence, able to understand our customer’s scientific
and business issues and translate these into commercial proposals for enterprise
software.
• Able to travel 50% or greater of working time over any 1-year period.
