Human by nature.Technical Director for Naturals F/M/D – your future role?The role is located in Vallauris (France, 06).As the Technical Director for Naturals, you will lead and oversee the development, the enhancement, the quality and the innovative use of natural ingredients in the creation of perfumery products. This role requires a deep understanding of natural raw materials and process applied to develop them, their properties and their applications in perfumery. The Technical Director will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, ensure quality, and meet the evolving demands of the market.Reporting to the Head of House of Naturals, your main responsibilities will be: Innovation and development

• Work closely with the Naturals Perfumery team, the Perfumers in both FF and CP, the Cardex Committee and the Orpur committee to define priorities for the Naturals Innovation Pipeline, aligned with strategy, trends and business needs.
• Lead the research and development and industrialization of new natural ingredients for use in fragrances.
• Identify emerging trends in natural ingredients and integrate them into product development strategies.
• Develop and implement innovative processes for the extraction, processing and preservation of natural ingredients.

Quality

• Be part of the definition of the finest quality standards for naturals products family with Perfumers.
• Ensure quality consistency of Naturals by implementing technical management of external partners and by collaborating with our Production department.
• Lead the Quality Control organization.
• Collaborate with the Global Quality team to establish and maintain quality specifications.

Team Management

• Manage and mentor a team of scientists and quality control specialists, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Oversee team activities, providing technical guidance and support to ensure project goals and deadlines are met.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and support professional development for team members.

Collaboration and leadership

• Work closely with Naturals Perfumery, FF and CP perfumers, marketing and business development team, commercial team and Formulation Ingredients Management, Global Procurement and Agronomy to incorporate natural ingredients into new and existing products.
• Lead cross-functional project teams to achieve project goals and deadlines.

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Botany, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in the perfumery industry, with a strong emphasis on natural ingredients.
• Expertise in natural ingredient sourcing, extraction, and application in perfumery.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for natural ingredients.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and team collaboration skills.
• Ability to translate market trends into innovative product solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in scientific research and technical documentation.
• Excellent communication skills
