Job Summary The primary objective of this role is to expand and diversify the Scent business partnership and technology portfolio, thereby driving business growth thru innovation.In this Technology & Innovation leadership role, you will partner with our R&D, M&A, Legal, and cross categories leaders as well as other support function departments such as Procurement, Regulatory Affairs and Scent Design Managers.You will directly report to the global Vice-President, Technology and Innovation based in Hilversum, NL.Responsibilities.
- Identify potential partnership opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new partners.
- Identify the emerging technological opportunities in alignment with our strategic needs and fit and prepare succinct technical briefs on opportunities to highlight new opportunities for partnership.
- Collaborate with the Business key stakeholders such as categories leaders and R&D to leverage partnership opportunities.
- Develop coherent business plans for partnership opportunities through clearly articulated value proposition analysis, including conceptual positioning, technology benchmarking, IP landscape and a go-to-market proposal.
- Coordinate and drive technical and business assessments of opportunities through relevant internal decision-making processes.
- Partner with BU leadership and M&A team to frame term-sheets & negotiate contractual clauses for partnerships by closely working with in-house legal & patent lawyers.
- Closely coordinate with internal technical teams to help manage further technical engagement with selected partners.
Required Skills & Qualifications.
- Minimum 15+ years’ experience in the Fragrance, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Cosmetic, Consumer goods and/or industrial food industry in an international environment.
- MSc/PhD in Science & Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or related Engineering disciplines.
- An MBA or other training in business or finance will be an added advantage.
- Sound scientific knowledge and ability to gauge a broad range of technological and scientific fields. Personal/consumer care relevant experience will be a plus.
- Proven record of managing an innovation processes and projects.
- Strong experience in collaborating with external partners and networking abilities.
- Experience working with international teams.
- Time management and planning skills.
- Strong innovation mind set, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Experience presenting to global internal and external customers.
- Understanding and experience in handling IP protection, licensing, and financial term sheets.
- Team Player who works well both independently and with teams, with demonstrated project management and leadership skills to manage transversal projects and producing high quality assessments of scientific concepts.
- Excellence communication (both written/verbal – in English), Organizational influence, and interpersonal skills. Fluency in other languages such as French or Dutch is another advantage but not a mandatory.
