Our mission is to make research simple, effective, and reliable for healthcare professionals worldwide.As Tech Lead, you’ll lead the development of our technology strategy and drive innovation, while building and mentoring our engineering team to meet the demands of a growing business.What you’ll own

• Complete engineering of a highly sophisticated, fast evolving product.
• Build out a high-performing engineering team and way-of-working.
• Co-shape (with Product) the product roadmap.
• Co-build (with Founders) the company.

Tasks

• Technology Leadership: Define and execute the technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals and growth trajectory.
• Hands-on Development: Hands-on involvement in full-stack development, focusing on Node.js, Elasticsearch, and multi-tenancy architecture with relational databases. Lead deployment and scaling on GCP. Supervise Python integrations (Vertex AI) for LLM deployment in RAG pipelines and oversee Vue.js frontend development.
• Team Growth & Management: Work closely with the co-founding team in this early phase to shape the company culture. Hire and mentor a high-performing engineering team.
• Architecture & Infrastructure: Lead architectural decisions for robust, scalable solutions using Node.js, Elasticsearch, Python, and GCP (Serverless), ensuring the platform’s scalability and future flexibility.
• Agility & Execution: Drive projects from conceptualization to deployment, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on execution, with a strong focus on delivering scalable, effective solutions.
• Process Development: Establish and optimize development processes, ensuring agile methodologies and DevOps best practices are in place to support rapid scaling.
• Future: Stay at the forefront of technological advancements in AI/ML and cloud infrastructure, driving continuous improvements to our product offerings.

Requirements

• 7+ years of full-stack development experience (Node.js, Elasticsearch, Python) with a proven track record in fast paced, rapid growth environments. Experience in regulated industries like healthcare or life sciences is a plus.
• Experience building, nurturing and scaling teams and technology platforms in a high-growth environment.
• Strong architectural and infrastructure knowledge, with a focus on cloud-native and serverless solutions.
• Previous experience as lead developer, or engineering manager, preferably in a tech-driven startup.
• Takes full ownership, works with an entrepreneurial approach, loves being part of building a product and company.
• Deep understanding of agile development, API-first architecture, and DevOps practices.
• Python ML/AI experience is a significant advantage.
• Located near Amsterdam, with the ability to work in a hybrid setup.
• A Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is a plus.
