This post is part-time, 14 hours per week and fixed term until October 2025. The salary stated above is the pro-rata amount, the full time salary would be £39,236 to £44,617 per annum (Incl. LWA).The role can be carried largely be carried out on a flexible basis, though there is a requirement to deliver weekly sessions to students in-person between January and May 2025.We wish to recruit a motivated and experienced Team Lead to plan, manage and deliver a series of work-based learning projects for undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Westminster, working alongside a number of social justice partner organisations. The projects are run through the Centre for Social Justice Research (CSJR), which was established in 2023 with a mission to understand contemporary social inequalities and challenge the power relations and institutions that sustain them in order to bring about meaningful social change.The last two years has seen the CSJR partner with a number of leading social justice organisations to provide a range of work-based learning opportunities for Westminster students, which are delivered through a series of community impact and knowledge exchange projects. Students undertake workshops and training related to the work of the partner organisations and then complete a variety of research, education, and outreach tasks. Each project provides employability-led learning for between 10-12 Level 5-7 students from across the School of Social Sciences and is delivered through a 12-week programme during Semester 2 (January to April 2025).Previous partnerships have included the following organisations:

  • INQUEST – the only charity in the UK that provides expertise on state related deaths and their investigation to bereaved people, lawyers, advice and support agencies, the media, and parliamentarians.
  • Women in Prison – a national charity that delivers support for women affected by the criminal justice system in prisons, in the community and through our Women’s Centres. They campaign to end the harm caused to women, their families, and our communities by imprisonment.
  • Campaign Against the Arms Trade (CAAT) – a UK-based organisation working to end the international arms trade.
  • Association of Visitors to Immigration Detainees (AVID) – a network of voluntary organisations providing support for people in detention.
