Offer DescriptionThe Department of Business Humanities and Law at Copenhagen Business School invites applications for a vacant Teaching Associate Professor in Philosophy of Science and Business Administration. The starting date is expected to be before December 2024, or as agreed upon during consultation.The position is part of strategy to build capacity in the field and integrate it into the core teaching areas of Copenhagen Business School. The candidate is expected to teach a business humanities perspective on the philosophy of science, to encourage learning in the theoretical and methodological foundations of management research and practices broadly, and to contribute to development of the philosophy of science educational portfolio at Copenhagen Business School.The position is advertised as a Teaching Associate Professor. It is a permanent position. The appointee will be expected to engage in academic citizenship, including being physically present, interacting with their colleagues, and participating in the department’s broader activities on a regular basis. Finally, they should be able to demonstrate the impact of their teaching to the wider public and business community.Academic EnvironmentThe Department of Business Humanities and Law is dedicated to an integrated approach to the contemporary challenges facing business and society drawing on the humanities, interdisciplinary social sciences, and law. It emphasizes problem-oriented scholarship to understand those challenges and to build the lifelong capabilities necessary to address them. Faculty within the Department of Business Humanities and Law have diverse academic backgrounds and research foci including but not limited to leadership, entrepreneurship, ethics, strategy, law, politics, economics, sociology, philosophy, history, anthropology, diversity, equity and inclusion, culture and leisure management. What unites faculty is an overriding concern for the organization of the human within its multiple environments and, by implication, an interest in the interdisciplinary “conversation” between humanities and social sciences.Within the Department of Business Humanities and Law, the position will be located in the Governance, Culture and Learning Unit, an interdisciplinary academic environment connecting management issues relative to governance, culture and learning.Given the engagement and central role of the Department of Business Humanities and Law in teaching philosophy of science across the study programmes of Copenhagen Business School, the candidate should demonstrate a capacity to collaborate across departments, disciplines and academic environments.Position DescriptionThe teaching associate professorship is a permanent position with teaching obligations. In addition to teaching assignments and any professional development assignments, the position as teaching lecturer may include supervision and guidance of students.Qualifications * PhD in philosophy of science or related area.

  • Substantial teaching experience from universities or business schools in the philosophy of science and business administration
  • Documented teaching qualifications or other material for the evaluation of his/her pedagogical level.
  • Proficiency in both Danish and English (fluently spoken and written).
  • Ability to teach in Danish and English
  • Publication of high quality teaching material (teaching cases, textbooks etc.) in the philosophy of science and business administration.
