Job descriptionASC Teaching Assistant – Preston – ASAPAre you an experienced ASC SEND Teaching Assistant looking for your next role? Are you experienced supporting pupils in key stage 3 with severe ASC?We are currently supporting a school near Preston who are looking to recruit an experienced, dedicated and reliable ASC SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team.The role will start as soon as possible, it will be full time and will be on an ongoing basis. You will be supporting pupils on both a 1-1 and small group basis in ks3 and 4. Students will have a specific diagnosis of Autism and will require somebody who has a good understanding of ASC. There could be times when the pupils may display some behavioural difficulties, so experience of working with challenging behaviours is desireable.The team at this school are dedicated to continuously working closely with parents and carers to provide the best possible outcome for each child. Offering various enrichment activities which in turn encourages pupils to progress through the various aspects of the curriculum.It would be advantageous if you hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle to be able to get to the school. You are not required to hold business insurance, it is purely to be able to get to the school.Please note, only candidates with experience of Autism will be considered.ABOUT THE ROLE

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience working with KS3 pupils with Autism ( essential)
  • Previous experience working of working with young people (which we can reference)
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, but we can provide training)
  • Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, but we can provide training)
  • Up to date behaviour management training (desirable, highly recommended)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
  • Experience supporting young people with special educational needs, specifically Autism (ASD/ASC)
  • Previous support work, TA or LSA work within a UK school or other related experience.
  • A caring and professional manner, willing to support with the personal care of pupils.
